We met on good ole' Tinder. Mike was a good conversationalist, witty and had an answer for everything. I was a nervous wreck using a dating app for the first time. Mike had tried to get together quite a few times; remember when I said I was a nervous wreck? Yeah, so I totally blew him off those few times. Finally, on a night out with my friends during my last few weeks of college, I took the plunge and invited him out. We danced at the bar, laughed all night long and he bought my pizza at the end of a drunken night. We planned our official first date the very next day. The rest is history!

I had been planning a surprise birthday trip to Vegas for Mike's 30th Birthday for quite some time. I gifted him the trip for his birthday and we'd soon take off for Vegas a few months later, little did he know I invited our friends & family. Somehow, in the span of time from when I surprised him, to the actual trip, he had found out about the surprise (I blame the boys on their video games). But he was sneaky, he kept it quite that he knew. Fast forward to the trip, on our first day he wanted to go for a hike at the Red Rocks. Since it was his birthday trip, anything for the birthday boy! I was frantically texting our people to clear the lobby as we were coming down as I didn't want anyone to see us yet. I booked a Cabana at the pool for the surprise later that day. While I was so preoccupied trying to surprise him, he turned the whole thing around and gosh was it a surprise! He proposed to me right in front of the Red Rocks. He had my two sisters there on standby to get photos & videos of everything. It was such a special moment with just the two of us. Arriving back at the hotel, he also sneakily traded room keys with my mom at some point that morning and our entire room was decorated. Then as we made it out to the cabana, everyone was there with the cabana decked out in engagement celebrations. It was such a special trip!
