FAQsFAQs

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding? What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Formal or cocktail attire please! No need for ballgowns or tuxes (although if you want to wear those, feel free!), dresses/jumpsuits and suits will do just fine.

Question

What colors should I avoid wearing for the wedding? What colors should I avoid wearing for the wedding?

Answer

It should go without saying that WHITE should be avoided! Other than that, wear whatever color you want! Our bridal party will be dressed in all different fall colors and we aren't concerned with anyone looking too "matchy" to the bridal party. The more fall colors, the better!

Question

Are kids allowed at the wedding? Are kids allowed at the wedding?

Answer

Unless your child has specifically been included on the invitation, kids are not allowed at the wedding. Infants who are nursing are the only exception.

Question

Do I get a plus one to the wedding?Do I get a plus one to the wedding?

Answer

Not unless a "plus one" has specifically been included on your wedding invitation. While we would love for everyone to be able to bring a date with them, we simply cannot accommodate extra guests. Sorry!

Question

What can I do during the time between the ceremony and the reception? What can I do during the time between the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

We don't want you to be bored while the wedding party is getting their pictures taken so we've provided a few options for places to visit near our reception venue in the Things To Do tab. Pro tip: try not to fill up too much at any stops before the reception starts- we promise we have tons of delicious food for you and we don't want anyone to miss out!

Question

Where do I park for the reception?Where do I park for the reception?

Answer

Parking is on-site at the venue. Once you arrive at Rocking Horse Farms, there should be parking attendants to assist with finding a suitable parking spot on the property.

Question

Is there an open bar at the reception? Is there an open bar at the reception?

Answer

Yep. Stay thirsty and drink responsibly my friends!

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions? What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please let either the bride or groom know ahead of time. We have tried to accommodate for multiple possible dietary restrictions with our buffet but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask us beforehand or waitstaff at the venue!

Question

What should I bring?What should I bring?

Answer

Our ceremony will be inside a church and our venue is a barn-style building with cocktail hour planned outside (fingers crossed we have nice weather for it!). As it will be late October, almost anything can go for the weather. Please consider bringing a change of shoes if wearing heels for cocktail hour outside and a sweater or jacket in case of cold weather. While we hope no additional measures are needed outside of the venue's heated floors, our venue owners have had guests bring throw blankets in the past and offered this as a suggestion just in case!

Question

I didn't drink so responsibly at the reception... how can I get home?I didn't drink so responsibly at the reception... how can I get home?

Answer

First and foremost, PLEASE do not drink and drive! We want everyone to have fun but we also want everyone getting home safely afterward. Uber and Lyft services are widely available in the Syracuse area. In addition, there are several taxi services including Syracuse Taxi Service LLC Airport Taxi (315-395-1415), Bobby's Taxi and Transportation (315-450-3100), and Suburban Taxi (315-434-9999). The venue is accessible through Sunday so cars can be left overnight if need be. Please be safe!
