Alex and Whitney first connected on Hinge while Whitney was still living in Orange County, California. Though she had spent almost seven years in California, she frequently traveled back to Omaha to visit family and had been thinking about moving home. Alex, originally from Kansas City, had recently moved to Omaha from Fargo in 2023 for work. The week of their planned first date, Alex got his front tooth knocked out playing basketball. He tried to cancel, but Whitney insisted they still go—and they’re both so glad she did. Over dinner they shared their stories, talked about their walks with the Lord, and immediately bonded over the fact that Alex attended Love Church—the same church Whitney had been part of for nearly seven years before moving to California. In December 2024, Whitney officially moved back to Omaha, and shortly after, Alex asked her to be his girlfriend. Over the the last year, they built a foundation filled with meaningful experiences: traveling to Europe, Alex buying a home, spending time with each other’s families, and most importantly, deepening their relationship with God. Today, they’re both actively involved at Love Church and surrounded by couples who are passionately pursuing Jesus. They are excited to unite their lives, continue growing in their faith, and step into marriage together on March 28, 2026.
