Maid of Honor
Miranda loves Kelly like a sister — the one she never had but always wanted — get these two talking Veronica Mars and you’ll never get a word in. On the hardest days Kelly is always there and the best days are made brighter because of her presence. Miranda cherishes those early years at college when meeting Kelly made life in a new city far away from the comfort of family feel more like home. Since then, Kelly’s drive, generosity, enthusiasm, and kindness have made Miranda’s life so much bigger and fuller and she has an inexhaustible energy that both Miranda and Jake are constantly in awe of. They couldn’t be happier for the part she will play in their marriage and for the part she played in introducing them all those years ago. Over the course of their friendship Miranda and Kelly started a business, lived together, traveled together, and danced the long nights away. Miranda can’t wait to add another meaningful memory to their long standing and ongoing list.
Best Man
The Groom and the best man are brothers. Jake and Zack. Or sometimes Zake and Jack. Sometimes Jake is Zack and Zack is Jake, The family can never keep it straight, and they like it that way. They have been best friends since they were babies — excepting a short period of time when Zack went away to college and for a year Jake became a very uncool nuisance frequently asking to visit. That dynamic could never have lasted. They share each others’ interests and sense of humor, taste in music and art, and even through their age and distance still experience that creepy cosmic magic that leads them to say the exact same thing at the exact same time — an out of the blue and extraordinary event always reminding them that no matter how far apart in the world they live they are forever linked. Jake couldn’t be happier and more proud to have his big brother supporting him on the day he makes a new link and knows that he will always find strength and guidance in the memories and love he and Zack share.
Officiant
Chuck is the young uncle who served as a springboard for Jake’s mischievous and imaginative kid mind. He made him laugh until his sides split and always had a cool new record to share or movie to see or video game to try (often considered to be too mature or frightening). He helped shape Jake into the adventurous and creative individual he is today. Along with Jake’s parents, Chuck is directly responsible for the many years of family singing and performing that, when they are all together, still echo through the house today; memories that are sacred and will be held near and dear forever. As Miranda was initiated with open arms into the family early on — Chuck would ask when she and Jake would be getting married long before they were ever together — the couple thought no one else could be better to bring them together in love and matrimony.
