It was in geometry class. On a Friday. Middle of October. This was when she first step into my life. She was collecting her graded homework. I wasn’t paying attention in class and didn’t get to hear her name being called. For a whole week all I knew was a pretty face and no name. Friday came up again and I was ready to learn, just her name though. The teacher passed back graded homework at the end of class every Friday. Since the last Friday when I first saw her until now felt like months passed. Teacher had a stack of homework in his hands and called for Stephanie Bolanos. That pretty face gets up and my heart drops. I say to myself, "Steph & Van." I was only 16 years old then. From that moment I fell in love and I knew I was going to marry her.
After 10 years of being apart Van and I reunited by ways of a phone call where he asked me to marry him, I laughed and said how about we start off by talking. From the long talks, to the home cooked meals, the one of a kind serenading and jokes I knew I was in for a life full of endless joy, laughter and love. Four years after the reunion phone call he proposed once more, this time I knew he was my one and only...
After four wonderful years of civil marriage, we decided to pursue a renewal of vows through the Church. This marked the beginning of a beautiful new chapter. Van chose to enter the Catholic faith, and over the past two years, we have grown closer to God, strengthening our bond with each other even more. With grateful and faithful hearts, we now enter the covenant of sacred marriage. Our story has been written by God, and we will live it out with love and gratitude to Him and to one another.
