In May, Waikīkī typically offers warm tropical weather with daytime temperatures around 80–85°F and nighttime temperatures in the low 70s°F. This is the beginning of the dry season, with plenty of sunshine, lighter crowds, and ocean breezes. Occasional brief showers can occur, usually at night.
The wedding will take place in Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HST).
We strongly recommend arriving in Hawaiʻi at least 1–2 days before the wedding to allow time for travel delays, time zone adjustment, and to settle in and enjoy your stay.
The wedding will be very casual and beach-friendly. Guests are welcome to wear light, comfortable attire such as sundresses, casual dresses, khakis, linen pants, shorts, or nice tops with skirts or pants. Sandals or wedges are recommended, and light layers are helpful for ocean breezes.
Yes! Food and drinks will be provided on the wedding day during our breakfast reception. All other meals during your stay will be on your own.
The ceremony will be approximately 20 minutes. Afterward, the couple will take wedding portraits for about an hour. Some family and group photos may take place during this time.
Absolutely! Don't let us hold you back, you take that vacation!
Yes! We would love to see the kids, but we completely understand that traveling with children can be challenging. If it helps, some families choose to have a trusted friend or family member watch the kids for a few days, or bring a designated nanny along. Any childcare arrangements and related expenses would be the responsibility of the guests.
The wedding will take place outside. There may be brief, passing rain showers, but they clear up quickly.
Yes, you are welcome to take photos. We kindly ask that you remain mindful of our photographer and avoid blocking their view so they can capture the ceremony.
Yes! The sun in Hawaii can be strong, so we recommend bringing sunscreen. If you plan to go into the ocean, please only use mineral-based, reef-safe sunscreen to protect the coral reefs and marine life. Regular sunscreen can harm the ocean, so plan ahead and pack one that meets this guideline. If you're unable to find reef-safe sunscreen before your trip, it is widely available at shops throughout the island.
All travelers flying within the U.S. must have a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or a valid passport to board a plane. Please be sure your ID is up to date before traveling. If you're unsure whether your ID is REAL ID-compliant, we recommend checking with your local DMV or bringing a passport to be safe.
