Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Valerie Eadie and Yazan Mansour
Here are a few of our favorites places throughout Florence. There is so much to see and do that we recommend planning to stay for a few days before heading off to other parts of Italy.
Uffizi Galleries

Uffizi Galleries

6 Piazzale degli Uffizi, Firenze, Toscana 50122, Italy

Right in the center of Florence, the Uffizi is packed with amazing art—think famous pieces like The Birth of Venus by Botticelli, the Adoration of the Magi by Leonardo da Vinci, and tons of marble sculptures. It’s a big place, so give yourself 3-4 hours to explore. See if you can spot a few of our favorite pieces that will be used in the Wedding!

Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio, Firenze, Toscana 50125, Italy

Take a romantic stroll along Florence’s historic and oldest bridge lined with goldsmith shops that have been there since the 13th century. This is where Valerie & Yazan picked out their wedding bands.

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore

Piazza del Duomo, Firenze, Toscana 50122, Italy

This is the iconic Duomo of Florence's landscape and one of the greatest masterpieces of Gothic Art and first Italian Renaissance. In its time, this cathedral was the largest in Europe and is still free to enter.

The Boar of Piazza del Mercato Nuovo

The Boar of Piazza del Mercato Nuovo

Il Porcello, Toscana 50050, Italy

The II Porcellino or “the little pig”, as the locals fondly call it, is a bronze fountain of a wild boar at the side of the new market. Legend has it, good fortune follows those who rub the boar's snout with a coin and slide it into the grate between his feet in one motion. This is also located in the middle of a popular market for Leather goods.

Officina Profumo - Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella

Officina Profumo - Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella

16 Via della Scala, Firenze, Toscana 50123, Italy

At over 800 years old, this is a beautiful shop to visit and pick up your own bottle of perfume or cologne, as an authentic Florentine souvenir. Acqua della Regina is their oldest scent and was Catherine de' Medici's wedding gift to her future husband, King Henry II of France in 1533. This is also where Valerie picked out her signature wedding day scent.

Siena

Siena

Siena, Tuscany 53100, Italy

Just over an hour train ride from Florence's main station, Siena is the perfect choice for a day trip and a chance to see a bit of the Tuscan Countryside. While Florence boasts Renaissance art, Siena features murals and frescoes dating back to the Medieval Era. The center Palazzo Pubblico has a bell tower you can climb for an amazing view and the museum inside is a great reward for the 400 stairs you just mastered.
