Cocktail attire is the name of the game, but keep in mind the weather! It's winter in Michigan after all and at least part of the day will include being outside.
Your attendance is all the gift we need, but the answer is yes! There's a handy link on this website.
Malte will be entering the US on a single-entry 90 day visa specifically to get married. After the wedding, we will file paperwork to change his status to that of a permanent resident. That's the part where he hangs out for 4-6 months and does the post-wedding waiting for all the paperwork to clear, and then he's good to go! After two years he can work on becoming a citizen. He will then become a dual citizen of Germany and the US, which I hope to do as well eventually. UPDATE 10/15/18 - Stage one is officially over! The initial petition has been approved. The interview should take place within the next 1-2 months. UPDATE 1/3/2019 - The interview is over and the date is set!
The WHERE is solved - we have a great venue that's keeping itself available for us, located outside of Port Huron in Kimball, MI. As for the WHEN, now we have a date (I know...FINALLY)! The ceremony will take place at 11am with a coffee hour and brunch to follow.
Brunch is being catered buffet style so you only need to eat what you want! We will also have some lunch options for people who aren't big brunch fans (do you guys exist?). If there's something you're really concerned about or any allergies we should be aware of, let us know!
