Valerie met Stephanie at Michigan State when they both went in blind and were paired as roommates. After their first night ended up with Valerie hiding Stephanie’s vomit on the Night Owl, it was evident they would be life long besties. The last 17 years (we are old) have brought so many memories together from lessons in cooking spam, being Crazian, and Rice Kitchen. You absolutely don’t want to catch the two of them together during a MSU basketball game... Valerie and Stephanie are the OGs and founding fathers of 308.

Jeny Rodriguez

Bridesmaid

Valerie met Jeny in the mean streets of Armstrong Hall and judged from afar until she worked her way into Valerie’s heart via extra Uncrustables and Code Red. Jeny and Valerie lived together throughout college and then packed up their finest Charlotte Russe wardrobes and moved to Scottsdale. Their common law marriage wasn’t always perfect, there were leg locks and fights over groceries, but Jeny has always had her back. Jeny is also an original member of 308.

Sara McLeod

Bridesmaid

Sara and Valerie also met at MSU in the dorms (go to MSU people!). She was Valerie and Stephanie’s neighbor and after a psychopath roommate forced Sara to spend extra time on their futon, we’ve all been connected since. Sara and Valerie’s friendship has grown even closer over the recent years - bonding over old lady running injuries, binge eating junk and then subsequent complaining about why they can never lose weight. Sara’s always there for anything from great advice to Amazon deals. Sara is a member of 308 and the “Key” in Key West.

Stacie Gorski

Bridesmaid

Valerie and Stacie met during law school orientation. Right away they bonded over their dislike of people and obligatory social events. After graduation, Stacie and Valerie lived together in Chicago where they always found a reason to grab a martini and apps or a glass (or two) of wine before a weekly Target bender. Valerie has also became an honorary member of the Gorski family and still misses Papa Jerry’s kettle chip gifts.

Ashleigh Browe

Ashleigh is Ken’s sister by blood but became a sister to Valerie way before he popped the question. Valerie first met Ashleigh when she was visiting her brother in East Lansing. Valerie HAD to get a personal shopping lesson from this hip Cali girl so the two of them bonded over the latest fashions during a trip to Forever 21. A few years later, while Ashleigh and Ken were in Miami for a family vacation, Valerie and her friends met up with the two of them for a night. This was more than 10 years before Valerie and Ken started dating but Ashleigh knew there was something there and she told Valerie that she better never break her brother’s heart. Happy to say all these years later that my promise never to do it still stands.
