How we met

12/13/08

I was 19 years old, working at James Avery in the Mall when in comes this really handsome guy in a stripped Polo, wearing his signature NY Yankee cap, and a toothpick in his mouth. I told my friend how cute I thought he was and she told me her then- boyfriend was best friends with him and they were actually all meeting up that night for a UFC fight. I told her I’d be interested in meeting him and we set the plan in motion. Jeremy asked my friend what I looked like because he had no idea who I even was at this point. She showed him my Myspace pictures (lol) and he agreed to meet me. I showed up at his Dad’s house where the fight was showing and we sat on a chair together the whole night and talked and laughed. When I was leaving he walked me to my car, kissed me and told me he’d see me tomorrow. That was December 13, 2008. I’ve seen 118 UFC fights since then, and we have a gorgeous 9 year old, Riley, together. We will be married December 14, 2019 exactly 11 years and 1 day to the day we first met.

The Proposal

12/24/18

Christmas Eve at my Parent’s house is always a party 🎉 Everyone has smiles on their faces and the Christmas cheer has everyone giddy and happy. Last year was no different. There was anticipation in the air and I had no idea it was because I was about to experience the one thing I’d dreamed about for the last 10 years. So.. Riley, my nieces, and nephews start opening presents in the living room. Nothing unusual. They open a few and Jeremy starts getting “sick”. He tells me he doesn’t feel good and we walk into my parent’s room so he can gather himself. I was worried about him.. he was VERY convincing lol. After awhile, he says he feels better and we walk back into the living room only to find everyone has left. “Santa Claus” visits every year and I thought maybe the kids spotted Santa and followed him outside. At this point, I promise a proposal was the last thing on my mind. Jeremy opens the door and we walk outside and immediately I see Jeremy’s Family in my Parent’s front yard. At that point, I knew something was going to go down and I burst into tears. It was finally going to happen! Our immediate family was there and everyone cried and cheered in happiness and it was the best feeling in the world! I had no idea and it was perfect in every way.
