Gonzo's sister Sara set them up as "dates" for the sorority's 80's workout party. They were all going as a group of friends but every guy had to be paired up with one girl so Gonzo was paired up with Val. The two didn't think much of it, but as the party got closer and closer Sara worked her magic and told each of us that the other thinks they are cute (it was true). They had a blast at the party and the rest is history...

Val and Gonzo were on their dream trip to the Maldives, enjoying the clear blue water and tropical sea life. On the night of the first full day, they were on their way to the bar to get a drink and watch the sunset before dinner but stopped at the beach to take pictures first. After taking a couple pictures Gonzo got down on one knee and asked Val to marry him. She said yes of course! Following the proposal they went to the Whale Bar to watch one of the most amazing sunsets they've ever seen.
