Wedding Party

Darrell Washington

Best Man

Darrell Washington and I met in the military, serving in the same unit and deploying together, and from day one he’s been someone I could always count on. He’s had my back more times than I can count, both in and out of uniform, and that kind of loyalty is rare. There were even times when I was dead broke and hungry, and I knew exactly who to call because I knew he’d come through for me without hesitation. At the same time, he’s the kind of friend who will call you out and hold you accountable when you need it most. On top of all that, he’s one of the funniest people I know, always able to lighten the mood while staying incredibly goal-driven and inspiring. One moment that really sums him up is when I forgot my boot at a drill—before I could even stress about it, he already had an extra pair ready for me. That’s just who he is—always prepared and always looking out for others. I truly couldn’t ask for a better friend, and it means a lot to have him standing by my side.

Jessie Palus

Maid of Honor

I met Jessie about a year ago when I started cleaning her home, and with each visit, we grew closer. What started as a simple connection turned into a meaningful friendship built on laughter, shared experiences, and faith. I'm so grateful God brought her into my life, and I couldn't imagine this day without her by my side.

Timmothy Long

Best Man

I met Timothy back in 7th grade, and from that point on, he’s been more than just a friend—he’s truly been a brother to me. We’ve grown up together, gone through life’s ups and downs, and built a bond that words honestly can’t fully capture. He’s played a huge role in shaping the man I am today, and I’ll always respect and appreciate that. I’ve always admired his drive, his work ethic, and the deep love he has for his family. He’s one of the hardest-working, most honest, loyal, and dependable people I know—and somehow still one of the funniest too. We’ve shared a lot of great memories over the years, but one that always stands out is when we made a bet playing pool… and let’s just say I ended up hand-washing his car. All jokes aside, I’m truly grateful and blessed to call him my brother. It means a lot to me to have him standing by my side during one of the most important moments of my life.

Bailey Watts

Bridesmaid

Bailey is more than my best friend—she’s family. We’ve been inseparable since meeting at Aldi over 7 years ago, and she’s been by my side through everything. She’s Khamari’s godmother, has carried me through heartbreak, and always knows how to make me smile. I love her like a sister and am so blessed to have her in my life.

DeAunty Dupree

Groomsman

DeAunty is one of those people I truly believe everyone needs in their life. I honestly can’t imagine where I’d be without him—probably in a lot more trouble than I already got into. I’ve made my fair share of bad decisions over the years, and he’s always been the one I could call—whether it was before or after. Looking back, I probably would’ve avoided a lot if I had called him sooner. He’s the kind of person who will always tell you the truth, whether it’s what you want to hear or not. That’s what makes him so valuable—he genuinely wants the best for the people he cares about, even when you don’t see it yourself. Calling him just a friend doesn’t feel right… he’s been a brother to me for a long time. Since 7th grade, we’ve been like ying and yang—wherever one of us was, the other wasn’t far behind. In high school, we even started a singing group together. You would’ve thought we were getting paid the way we argued about who was the better singer and who should be leading the group.Through everything, he’s been a constant in my life, and I’m truly grateful to have him standing by my side during such a special moment.

Lysandra Moore

Matron of Honor

Sandra is Devin's little sister, and over the past few months of wedding planning, we've grown incredibly close. From long phone calls to even taking a short road trip together, we've built a bond rooted in laughter, shared interests, and faith. She's helped me grow in God and has been someone I can always count on...especially when I need a little help understanding her brother. I'm greatful to have her not only as my matron of honor, but as family.

Edgar Everett

Groomsman

Edgar is like the big brother I never had, and one of the most solid, dependable voices in my life. He’s been someone I can go to for guidance, no matter the situation. As men, we often feel like we have to have all the answers—or at least act like we do—but Edgar is one of the few people I’ve met who genuinely seems to. His wisdom, perspective, and ability to give real advice have helped me grow and mature, even at this stage in my life, and that’s something I don’t take lightly. He’s the kind of man who has been through the fire and came out stronger, wiser, and still smiling—you wouldn’t even know the battles he’s faced unless he told you. I met him at the gym during one of the lowest points in my life, and the encouragement and words he consistently gave me meant more than he’ll probably ever realize. He’s honest, genuine, loyal, and truly a great man all around. More than just a mentor, he’s someone I look up to and consider a big brother. I’m grateful for everything he’s poured into me, and I’m honored to have him standing by my side during such an important moment in my life.

Angie Dixson

Bridesmaid

Angie came into my life during COVID, when the world felt crazy and uncertain. I’d sit on her porch with Khamari for hours, and we’d just talk and talk—those moments meant everything. She watched Khamari grow up, and her sons and Gabe became friends at school. As my neighbor for a time and a constant support, she’s seen me through so many ups and downs and has always been there for me. I’m so grateful for her friendship and the peace she brought into my life when I needed it most.
