We met in the summer of 2021 in Valerie’s backyard, where her mom, David, and a few mutual friends played an unexpectedly intense game of Pickleball that went late into the night. Valerie was home from college; David was just tagging along. He noticed her right away. She was mostly impressed that someone could keep up with her mom. Two days before she left for her senior year in Pittsburgh, something changed. David and a friend came over again, and while they played, Valerie and David started talking and didn’t stop for two hours straight. David’s friend, tired but observant, noticed the spark and teamed up with his mom to play matchmaker the very next night. We exchanged numbers, and we haven’t stopped talking since. This was the first relationship for both of us, and we’re so thankful it’s the one that lasted. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Nos conocimos en el verano de 2021, en el patio de la casa de Valerie. Su mamá, David y unos amigos estaban jugando un partido de pickleball que se puso bastante intenso y duró hasta la medianoche. Valerie estaba de vacaciones de la universidad, y David solo había ido invitado por un amigo. Él la notó de inmediato. Ella solo pensó: “Wow, alguien que aguanta el ritmo de mi mamá”. Dos días antes de que Valerie regresara a Pittsburgh, algo hizo clic. David y su amigo volvieron a pasar por la casa, y mientras jugaban, empezamos a platicar… y no paramos por dos horas.
