Our story began in 2015 when we met in high school in Mrs. Sager's class Sophomore year. Mrs. Sager used a seating chart for the class alphabetizing the class by last name. Blake and Valerie both had B last names (before Valerie got adopted and had a W last name) which made Mrs. Sager sit Blake in front of Valerie in the seating chart. Blake and Valerie flirted a lot during this class whether it was throwing paper at each other, playing footies under the table, stealing Blake's binder, or even just stealing glances at each other. Both Blake and Valerie were oblivious of the crush developing, however, classmates around them would go, "You two should just date already". After many weeks, Valerie admitted to Nikki (one of her friends at the time) that she had a crush on Blake. Nikki ended up telling Blake but Blake being Blake he thought Nikki wasn't telling the truth and didn't say anything. So, the story stopped there for a little while. Valerie did not say anything to Blake, and Blake never said anything to Valerie about the crushing going on. Eventually, Valerie even told her mom that she had a crush on Blake (as if it was not obvious enough). Blake and Valerie got off the bus at the same stop, the four corners in North Adams, and Valerie told her mom "I'm going to go to prom with him". Her mom (being the logical woman she is) said, "Valerie, you still have awhile until you can even go to prom. Time may change before that happens". Valerie shrugged. Junior year came fast and after much encouragement from her mom and sister (Alyssa), Valerie finally got the nerve to ask Blake to prom when her mom said "he is too shy to ask you, so if you want to go to Prom with him Valerie, you'll have to ask him". Valerie was nervous, but asked Blake. Valerie: I was wondering if maybe.....you can say no if you want but I was wondering if you would like to go to prom with me? You don't have to! I just was wondering. Blake: Ummm.... Valerie: You can think about it. I don't need to know now. Blake: Yeah... Valerie: Yeah, you'll think about it? Blake: Yes, I'll think about it. *After lunch* Blake: Yes. Valerie: Yes, what? Blake: Yes, I'll go to prom with you. And that is when their story really bloomed. Blake then realized Nikki was right, Valerie did have a crush on him. So, three days later, Blake asked Valerie on a date to bowling on March 21, 2016. And that is how this story became "our" story. It was not until 4 years later on March 3rd, 2020 when Blake and Valerie decided to get engaged. Now, August 27th, 2022 they will be tying the knot with all of you!
