Q&A's

Below are a few more details we think you might wonder about, that aren't addressed elsewhere on this site. If you're curious about anything else not listed below, feel free to text us!
Question

Are you making any backup plans for Covid?

Answer

No, we’re gonna make it, no rescheduling! Be positive! But as far as hosting an event during a global health crisis goes, we want to address any nerves you may have. We've made safety a huge priority in our personal lives during the pandemic, and we're committed to keeping all of you safe at our wedding too. Leading up to the wedding, you can help us by getting vaccinated, masking when necessary, hand-washing, vaccinations, distancing responsibly, and by getting vaccinated. At the wedding, we will observe all venue safety regulations, and have masks on hand for anyone who wants one. Because we have several vulnerable family members, we're asking that everyone in attendance takes Covid safety seriously, and follows all of these precautions, including vaccinations. Please feel free to reach out to Val or Ashli directly if you have any hesitations or questions at all surrounding this topic.

Question

What do you mean by "cocktail reception?"

Answer

Simply put, this just means we're not serving a traditional plated dinner, but opting instead to serve a wide variety of heavy hors d'oeuvres, late night eats, cocktails from our open bar, desserts, etc. So instead of selecting between typical "chicken, beef, or fish" BORING dinner options, we're giving you tons of different EXCITING options that will provide fun variety, while also being just as filling as any average (boring, some would say) plated wedding dinner. You can grab a bite beforehand if you want to, but we're working hard to plan a menu substantial enough that you won't need to. Your munchies are safe with us.

Question

Are my kids invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, due to capacity & Covid restrictions, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us. Let the kids pull a Kevin McCallister and eat junk & watch rubbish.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the Roostertail as early as 5:00pm, and no later than 5:30. The venue has multiple event spaces, so be sure to look out for the signs pointing to our wedding - we'll be up the stairs immediately to the right once you enter the building.

Question

What's the parking situation?

Answer

Our venue provides free on-site self parking in an attached, semi-private lot. The Roostertail's beautiful covered entryway also makes Uber drop-off's super easy.

Question

Are the rooms in your hotel block discounted?

Answer

YES! And the discount is truly so so good...we would take advantage even if we were guests and not the brides. To book online, visit https://booking.motorcitycasino.com/#/ and enter 102221KORY under Group Code. To book over the phone, call 1-866-STAY-MCC and mention our block name, "Kory - Logan Wedding Room Block." You MUST book by 9-22 to be included in the discounted block.

Question

How can I RSVP?

Answer

All RSVP's will be collected online, through the RSVP tab on this website. If you have questions about filling out the online form, please let us know, and we'll be happy to help out. Don't forget to add your dance song requests when you RSVP too!

Question

I love you, but I'm struggling with the idea of attending a same-sex wedding or supporting a same-sex relationship. How do I approach this without being awful?

Answer

We are so excited about our wedding, and SO excited about our love! Both of us are so much happier, more fulfilled, and straight up better for loving each other, and we hope all of you can experience a love like this at some point. So we want our wedding to be a safe space to celebrate all love in its finest! We've invited people who we love so much, and who we'd be so excited to celebrate with. However, if you hold cherished central beliefs that would make it difficult for you to enthusiastically celebrate this love with us, we would not ask you to compromise those beliefs OR the safe space of our wedding by attending. While we'd be disappointed by that decision, we'll definitely allow it! Here's the thing - we cherish your love and support, especially at our wedding. But we sincerely don't believe you can give us those things while preferring us not to wed/believing our love is a choice or sinful, etc. We will not welcome any debates over the "righteousness" of our family & love.
