Nick and Miranda met like so many other 21st century couples - on a dating app! Miranda was in her first year of law school and just had her first ACL surgery, and Nick had just moved back to Cincinnati a few months prior. They were drawn to each other as they were identified to be "Most Compatible" by the app. Nick opened the conversation asking about the places Miranda has traveled as well as her college soccer experience, and the rest is history. Their first date was on March 4, 2022 at a local Cincinnati brewery called Rhinegeist. They spent almost every weekend after that going on dates and getting to know each other more. Their progress was halted, however, when Miranda left for the summer to complete a study abroad program in Madrid, Spain. They both admitted later that they thought about each other often throughout the summer, and progress resumed when Miranda returned to Cincinnati for her second year of law school. The two booked a trip over Labor Day weekend to Gatlinburg, where they made their relationship official. This is a big part of the reason as to why they chose to have their wedding there! Additionally, it is a good halfway point between their families, which are located in Cincinnati, OH and Beaufort, SC. Three years later, Nick proposed to Miranda in her hometown in her backyard over the Thanksgiving holiday.
