We met at our church, Good Shepherd in January of 2017. We were both juniors in high school attending weekly youth group. A few weeks after we initially met, we both ended up going on a church retreat where we sat next to each other on a 2 hour bus ride. Little did we know, we would end up being in the same small group out of more than 150 high school students. Thank you, Jesus!! After that church retreat, we kept talking and officially became boyfriend and girlfriend on March 2, 2017. High school was tough because we both went to different schools but we knew that we would for sure see each other at least at Sunday mass or Wednesday youth group. After high school Ty left to college 3.5 hours away, at Stephen F. Austin State University. Long distance relationships are NO fun! After completing 2 years of community college and living at home, I decided to move to East Texas and get my bachelors degree at SFA. Both attending the same school in East Texas, it's obvious to say that it was a huge change for us. Our long distance relationship of 3 years was no longer a long distance relationship. In May of 2022, Ty graduated college and moved back to Fort Worth. I moved back home and did my student teaching semester and graduated in December 2022. It worked out perfectly that we both ended up coming back home to Fort Worth and didn't have to do long distance again. Thank you, Jesus!! November 22, 2022- A day to remember forever. It began with Ty asking me to go out to dinner with him and his family in downtown Fort Worth. Ty told me that he wanted to go to confession before dinner, and it worked out for us to go to one of our favorite churches in the area beforehand. We went to confession at St. Patrick's Cathedral and right after, just outside the church, Ty asked me to marry him!! Since then, we have been preparing in every way possible for a wonderful marriage and cannot wait to celebrate the FIRST DAY of the rest of our lives TOGETHER as Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson, with you!!!
