Our story began back in 2015 at Purdue University, where we met as college students - and Adi somehow ended up as Valentina’s tutor (a very patient one, might we add). What started as a friendship quickly turned into something more, with long chats outside the dorms, countless meals shared, and movie nights full of laughter. After graduation, life took us on quite the adventure. We moved to Atlanta, then Valentina to Puerto Rico, and for a while we became masters of long distance - surviving airports, time zones, and terrible Wi-Fi connections. When the world shut down during COVID, Valentina moved to Ecuador and later to Barcelona, while Adi settled in Boston. Another chapter of long distance began - full of love, patience, and just enough bickering to keep things interesting. Fast forward to today: we’re finally living together in New York City, thriving (mostly), and writing this on a Sunday night… while slightly arguing over who loads the dishwasher better (by the way, the answer is always Val "apparently"). Through all the ebbs and flows (whatever that means - Adi’s words), we’ve learned that love truly endures everything. We’re best friends, occasional enemies, and forever each other’s favorite person. --O-- Nuestra historia comenzó en 2015 en la Universidad de Purdue, donde nos conocimos como estudiantes universitarios y, de alguna manera, Adi terminó siendo el tutor de Valentina, (muy paciente por cierto) Lo que empezó como una amistad pronto se convirtió en algo más, con largas conversaciones fuera de los dormitorios y noches de películas llenas de risas. Después de graduarnos, la vida nos llevó a una gran aventura. Nos mudamos a Atlanta; luego, Valentina se fue a Puerto Rico y, por un tiempo, nos convertimos en verdaderos expertos en relaciones a distancia, sobreviviendo aeropuertos, husos horarios y terribles conexiones de Wi-Fi. Cuando el mundo se detuvo por el COVID, Valentina se mudó a Ecuador y luego a Barcelona, mientras Adi se estableció en Boston. Así comenzó otro capítulo de distancia, lleno de amor, paciencia y las suficientes peleítas como para mantener la relación entretenida. Hoy, finalmente vivimos juntos en Nueva York y estamos escribiendo esto un domingo por la noche, mientras discutimos quién llena mejor el lava vajillas. (Por cierto, la respuesta aparentemente siempre es Valentina.) A través de todos los altibajos, o “ebbs and flows”, como dice Adi sin estar muy seguro de lo que significa, hemos aprendido que el amor realmente lo soporta todo. Somos mejores amigos, ocasionales enemigos y, para siempre, la persona favorita del otro.
