We met in June of 2021 at Target Store #2342 in Cedar Park, Texas. On Misty’s very first day, June 19th, we were briefly introduced in the breakroom when a coworker jokingly referred to Mikey as “the cuter brother.” It was a quick moment—but definitely a memorable one. For the next few months, we’d occasionally spot each other from across the store, but never really had the chance to talk. That finally changed when we ran into each other in the backroom, and just before Mikey was about to move five hours away to Lubbock, he asked for Misty’s number. What followed were countless late-night FaceTimes that brought us closer despite the distance. We had our first date on Christmas Day in 2021 (we both ended up with covid) and by February 2022, we officially began our relationship—long distance and all! Since then, we’ve built a beautiful life side by side with our two dogs. What started as a quick introduction in a Target breakroom turned into something we’ll cherish forever.
