We're getting Married

We met at work—classic setup, right? But it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. In fact, Valencia first noticed Isaiah when her mom, who was training him, said, “You need a man like that.” To which she immediately thought, “Yeah, no.” She was in leadership, he was just starting out, and the timing wasn’t it. Isaiah, on the other hand, first remembers Valencia when she practically dragged him into a meeting to prove a point. (Her words: “Come here.” His reaction: mild panic.) After he unknowingly helped settle a debate about scheduling, she told him he could leave—and that was that… or so they thought. A group outing a little later gave them a chance to talk and really connect. One thing led to another, and they started dating. Life got a little complicated—Isaiah was heading back to law school, and Valencia wasn’t ready. They went their separate ways. Fast forward a few months and one reconnection later… Maia, their beautiful daughter, was on the way. They officially became a couple on October 11, 2019—and life hasn’t slowed down since. On December 23, 2023, Isaiah asked Valencia to marry him, and the answer was (finally) yes. They chose St. Thomas for their wedding because neither of them had ever been, and they wanted to begin their marriage by exploring somewhere completely new—together. Now, they’re counting down to another October 11th. Different year, different chapter—but still the same love, same sass, and the same teamwork that’s gotten them this far.
