Our Love Story

Cole and I met on Facebook (modern times, don’t judge us) on March 31st of 2025. Cole immediately wanted to go out on a date the next day, so I agreed, what was the worst that could’ve happened?. I was in La Grange dog/housesitting and had worked the whole day at the vets office. Cole had failed to mention the night before he was going to sleep the entire day because he was coming off night shift, therefore he did not text me all day leading up to our date. So what does my first instinct tell me? This guy stood me up, but that was the last thing Cole did. This sweet man had switched his work days with another co-worker so he would have more time out with me that night. So fast forward to when Cole was suppose to pick me up, since I had thought he stood me up I had went ahead gotten myself dinner and put my pajamas on and settled in for the night. Cole calls me at 8pm pm, tells me he’s at La Grange waiting for me to tell him where to pick me up at. I realize he didn’t stand me up but yet I said no to going out that night. I knew Cole was immediately an amazing man when he automatically asked me for another chance to take me on a proper date and was so sweet about it. Fast forward to a rainy day on April 5th 2025 Cole finally made his way to my side of the river to get his chance at a proper date. We decided to go to dinner at Boneyard a little local restaurant in Madison. I probably sat there for a hour or two talking his head off and he just smiled the entire time. Since it was raining we had no idea what to do afterwards for an activity because the night was still so young. So we went shopping at TJ Maxx, and then grocery shopping at Kroger. Yes, I made this man carry my groceries in when he took me home. Ever since, the rest has been history in our beautiful love story.

The Big Proposal

November 5th, 2025

Early on once we started dating, Cole and I knew we wanted to be together forever. We knew this was something only The Lord himself brought together. Later down the road Cole actually told me he knew he loved me on our first date. So fast forward to June Cole knew he wanted to marry me and started looking at rings. Which brought him to buying my exquisite 1.5 ct emerald cut sliver engagement ring and (yes) I dropped a few not so subtle hints but he did pick this one out all by himself. He actually bought it from a really amazing shop in New York. Every time Cole and I talked about the proposal there were many small details I knew were important to make that day special for me. I knew I wanted something very private and intimate with just us but also I wanted the moment to be captured so we can always have this to look back on when we are older. Cole then had an idea. We had scheduled to have professional couples photos done in November on his family farm. So after months of planning, Cole secretly planning this perfect surprise proposal with our photographer Roxie, right at sunset he gave me the perfect proposal. Roxie had told me she wanted to do this TikTok trend where I’m facing forward and Cole is in the background unfocused. I was like “okay let’s do it”. I seriously had no freaking clue what was going on until I couldn’t see my 6’5 ft man behind me anymore. That’s when I was like in my head “ wait a dang minute!” I turned around and there he was.. down on one knee, with the most gorgeous ring ever and asked me to marry him. I immediately said “REALLY, we are doing this now?” Of course I said yes. Cole and I are doing excited to be planning the wedding of our dreams and starting our life as one coming next November.
