They met in March of 2011, when Jade started working at the old Downtown Johnny Rockets. In a completely cliché moment, Jade turned her head in the very busy “employees only” area of Johnny Rockets, and through the bodies of her new coworkers, she saw Vicki for the first time. Their eyes met (seriously, how is this possible?) and the connection was instant. It wouldn’t be until much later that they would discuss that moment and realize it had been mutual. From the very first day they spent time together outside of work, they became inseparable. A typical “U-Haul” situation. One sleepover later (totally innocent as friends), and the rest is history. Since then, they have never spent more than a week apart, and now they get to be together forever.

They got engaged in 2019 on a family trip to Maui, in the most romantic way possible. In bed, after what felt like the longest day of their lives, while watching FRIENDS and trying their best not to pass out from exhaustion. Despite Jade’s plan to propose at their private “Dinner Under the Stars” the following night, in true Jade fashion, she impulsively proposed to Vicki in her holey sleep T-Shirt with Ross and Rachel fighting in the background. Vicki was so tired, she thought she was hallucinating. After being asked several times more, and numerous reassurances that it WAS real, she finally said yes!

Over 12 years later, and they’re still inseparable. It may be a problem, maybe… They’re working on it… They’ve been living together for over 11 years (they really did U-Haul) and have since added to their little family. They now have a big spoiled baby named Naya, the German Shepherd with a bag of ropes for a tail, who they couldn’t love more. Jade and Vicki love to share their adventures and hobbies, which adds to the inseparable-ness. From hikes and running, to cruises and reading, they do it all together. In 2021 they decided to train for their first half-marathon, and by the end of December, they ran the 2021 California International Marathon together. Now they are in a two-person book club, and enjoy their nights reading together and discussing their book of the week.
