FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

This will be a black-tie affair. For the gentlemen, a tuxedo is strongly encouraged, though a sharp, classic suit is also appropriate. For the ladies, a formal evening gown is preferred, styled in light, airy spring and summer hues—think sage, soft gray-blue, champagne, peach, lavender, and other romantic pastels—rather than darker winter tones such as black, navy, burgundy or emerald. Our bridal party will be wearing blush pink, so we kindly ask guests to refrain from wearing a similar color. *NO HATS*

Question

Your little ones

Answer

While we’ve chosen to keep our wedding ceremony and reception an adults-only celebration, we absolutely welcome you to bring your little ones along for the trip! Children are more than welcome to stay with you at the resort, and we hope it will be a fun getaway for the whole family.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

While we won’t be able to provide transportation to and from the venue for guests who are not staying onsite, there are several great options available nearby. We encourage you to consider carpooling, using ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft, or renting a car if needed.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Since the venue is just a short distance from the airport and most San Diego highlights are nearby, no long drives are necessary. Parking can be limited at the venue and around Shelter Island, downtown, and the beaches, so ridesharing with Uber or Lyft is encouraged and often easier. If you’re traveling with kids or a larger group, renting a car may be more convenient—but for smaller parties, rideshare is the way to go.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony to allow our photographer to capture those special moments. Feel free to snap as many pictures as you’d like during the reception!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

San Diego is known for its beautiful, mild weather, and we’re excited to share that our wedding will be no exception! However, during June, we experience what locals lovingly call ‘June Gloom.’ This means the mornings may start off a bit cloudy and cooler, with fog rolling in from the ocean. By the afternoon, the skies tend to clear up, and the sun comes out to shine, bringing perfect weather for our celebration! To help you feel comfortable throughout the day, we recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater in case it’s a little chilly before the sun makes its grand entrance.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place outdoors on the Marina Lawn, with a stunning backdrop of the private harbor and the Point Loma hills. Following the “I do’s,” we’ll gather for cocktail hour under a beautiful semi-shaded terrace—perfect for mingling and enjoying the coastal breeze. We’ll then head indoors to the Grand Ballroom for the reception, where dinner, drinks, and dancing await as we celebrate the night together!

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

Yes, we’ve put together a registry for those who wish to send a gift! You can find all the details under the “Registry” tab right here on our website. Your love and support mean the world to us!
