Like many modern love stories, ours began with a simple message on Instagram and quickly turned into something neither of us expected. We debate on who messaged who first, but I say he slid into my DMs :) For our first date, we planned to watch a game together at The Lazy Boy Saloon.. but in true "us" fashion things didn't go exactly as planned. I actually showed up at the wrong bar and instead of being annoyed, he met me there without hesitation. That small moment said so much about who he is. We spent that first night cheering on our favorite teams, the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys, laughing, teasing each other and realizing how easy it felt to just be together. From the start, I thought he was sweet, funny, sarcastic... and incredibly handsome! What was meant to be something casual at first quickly began to feel like something much bigger. As our connection grew and the moments between us became more meaningful, I realized this wasn't just another chapter. He was the one. Somewhere between the laughter, the late-night conversations, and the way he showed up for me, my heart quietly knew before I was even ready to say it out loud. This past October, on a beautiful eighty degree day, our teams were playing each once again. While him, dad, and I were checking out the field and watching the players warm up prior to the game, Dominic brought me to side and got down on one knee asking me to marry him. Of course, my answer was YES! Out of the corner of my eye our family came running out onto the field to congratulate us. I was beyond surprised and ecstatic. It was one of the most beautiful and happiest moments of my life! Looking back, getting lost on the way to that first date may have been the best mistake ever made because it led me exactly to where I was meant to be. And now, we can't wait to begin our next chapter together!
