FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We ask that guests dress in formal attire for our wedding. Gentlemen, please wear a jacket or suit and tie. Ladies, a nice dress or evening gown is perfect. We want everyone to feel great and look their best as we celebrate together! Please note that the ceremony is taking place in a catholic church and we ask that guests please be mindful of this fact when choosing their outfit for the day.

Question

Can I bring a plus one? Or my children?

Answer

You would not believe how hard it was to stay within the very tight numbers we had to follow as our venue has a hard capacity limit. So please refer to your invitation for invited guest and I am sorry to say we cannot make changes.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We ask that you RSVP right away and if something changes and you cannot make it after all, please email Devin's mom at noelle@semmesyachts.com We understand things happen - just the earlier we know the better. Thanks!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Your presence is present enough! That said, if you would like to get us a gift please refer to the registry tab of our wedding website.

Question

I noticed there is a two hour gap between the ceremony and the reception, what do we do?

Answer

Our reception is within walking distance to the church and parking is limited at both. There is a local parking garage off Main Street - between the two venues that may be best option. For the two hours between the ceremony and reception it would be a good time to relocate your car and enjoy a drink at one of the MANY main street bars. Check out our things to do page for some of our favorites.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Downtown Annapolis gets pretty congested and it is also USNA Homecoming weekend so I would allow for extra time. I would consider parking in the garage to get a spot early instead of parking at the church and having to move it before the reception. The Noah Hillman parking garage is between the ceremony and reception. The Gott garage is also a great option, however it is a little further away. We request you plan to be in the pews at least 15-30 minutes early.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is free and ample parking at St. Mary's church, but you will need to move your car after the ceremony. There is valet parking at the reception venue if you wish or find your own on the street or parking garage off Main Street. The Calvert Street parking garage is open to the public and free on weekends, it is just a short walk from our reception venue. I would suggest parking at the garage and walk to both church and reception so you can enjoy a drink or shop on Main street during the 2 hours between ceremony and reception.

Question

Did I hear correctly that your wedding is the same weekend as USNA Homecoming?

Answer

Yes...
