Hello Family and Friends, I hope this message finds you well. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and the goal to stop the spread, we have made the decision to postpone the wedding celebration for Jason and Val Riel scheduled for May 2, 2020. We want to be mindful of the guidelines from the CDC and the recommendations coming from our country’s leaders to protect everyone’s health. Because the timeline of this virus is unknown, the new date for the celebration will be next year, May 1, 2021. If you have already purchased or plan to purchase a gift off of the wedding registry, you can mail it to 24739 Shoreline Drive, Millsboro, DE 19966. Thank you for celebrating Val and Jason from your own homes and we hope to see everyone next May, Stay safe and healthy!
We aren't sure when we met for the first time but to the best of our recollection, it was the spring of 2016. Our parents had houses a few down from one another and we both were always walking our dogs around the circle's pond at the beach.
One Saturday morning, Val woke up with the dog and noticed Aurora had a new charm on her collar. We have never kept any charms or tags on the dog so it was quite obvious. The charm was a large pink heart (Val hates both pink and hearts but later found out it was the only large charm to fit what he needed to say.) The charm said "Will you marry my dad?" And on the back, "Please". At the end of the day, Jason had Aurora (the dog) do his bidding. Shocking.
If you know either one of us, you shouldn't be surprised to hear this but we are eloping. We made the decison to start our lives together just the two of us. We are really excited about this adventure! We will be sure to share photos with everyone afterwards. Since we are eloping, we will be having a party for all in the spring of 2020.
