We're getting married!

Fresh from California, Austin showed up to his first day of 8th grade with long hair and vans - a risky move for a suburban town on Long Island. Jess liked the look, but she didn't say much to him until 9th grade. This love story really kicks off in third period earth science, Jess and Austin's first class together. After talking in class, Jess worked up the confidence to ask a mutual friend for his number. Two texts (yes...double texted) later, he finally responded. Things were going well, some would even say they were "together", but Austin wasn't really looking for a girlfriend yet.....

Here's what you need to know: Austin asked Jess to Junior Prom, but he went solo to Senior Prom, giving Jess the perfect opportunity to work her way back. Special shoutout to Barbara Kay (Austin's mom) who told Jess she looked the best at prom - this was the confidence boost she needed. They've been inseparable since.

After graduating from college together, Austin and Jess settled in NYC for a few years and finally made the move to Santa Monica after years of consideration. Like many people, they decided to make a change after COVID hit. To celebrate their new life ahead in Scottsdale, Austin planned a date night in Malibu. Before heading to dinner, Austin suggested they watch one of their last California sunsets together at Point Dume. Austin pulled off the perfect surprise proposal on 11/20/20.
