Getting Here

Twickenham House is located on Phoenix Mountain, which is known as the “Rocky Mountain of the East” due to its 1.6 mile cliff face. This mountain overlooks the historic village of Jefferson, North Carolina and is surrounded by spectacular geological formations and a broad array of indigenous wildlife. This legendary estate conveniently resides just three miles away from Ashe County Regional Airport, less than 10 miles from Blue Ridge Parkway, 20 miles from Boone, 119 miles from Charlotte, 188 miles from Raleigh. **Please note that you will not be able to drive onto the property on the day of the wedding. We will have a shuttle service that runs from the Jefferson Landing property. If you are not staying at Jefferson Landing, please note that you will have to meet the shuttle here to be transported to the wedding site.

Jefferson Landing is a golf community with a variety of rental properties and lodge/hotel rooms available for our wedding weekend. Feel free to split one of the larger parties with other guests or sign up for a tee time at their on-property golf course. Travel time from hotel to: - Twickenham House (~15 minutes) - Downtown West Jefferson (10-12 minutes) - Downtown Jefferson (5-10 minutes) Jefferson Landing is where the mandatory shuttle will drop off & pick up for all wedding events at Twickenham House. NO personal vehicles are permitted on the property, so the shuttle will pick up all guests at Jefferson Landing.

The negotiated rates are for guests staying at the hotel between 5/10/23 - 5/12/23. If you would like to come earlier than that or stay later, please call the number above and mention the Vail/Kraut wedding. We have a selection of King and 2 Queen rooms available at this hotel and breakfast is included in your stay. Travel time from hotel to: - Twickenham House (15-20 minutes) - Jefferson Landing Club (10-12 minutes) - Downtown West Jefferson (3-5 minutes) - Downtown Jefferson (5-10 minutes) There is a mandatory shuttle that will drop off & pick up for all wedding events at Twickenham House. NO personal vehicles are permitted on the property, so the shuttle will pick up all guests at this location as well as at Jefferson Landing.

Carter's Hill Cottage

Carter’s Hill Cottage sits on two acres and is only three miles from the Twickenham House. Enjoy the sun coming over the mountain while you sip on a hot coffee while sitting on our fully covered front porch. The cottage is only minutes from the towns of Jefferson and West Jefferson with a view of Mt. Jefferson (4665 ft) in front of the cottage and Phoenix Mtn to the rear of the cottage. Although you are so close to all the fun, you are secluded with no neighbors in view.
