I couldn’t ask for a better older sister! We’ve been so close since the start and I have always looked up to her for guidance, advice, and silliness. She constantly amazes me with the way she is driven to accomplish her dreams and to serve the needs of others. Having Sydney as a role model has helped me accomplish my own dreams. One of my favorite memories was when we shared a room together on a family vacation to Mexico. We would act so incredibly goofy and weird because our excitement to spend time away from the craziness of life! I could not have asked for a better older sister!

From the moment I first met Sydney, as she was being introduced to the Carroll family, I felt an instant connection. I was so excited for Seth to have found someone equally amazing and I also knew we would become great friends. Through the years, despite thousands of miles between us the connection was always constant. It is so magical that a moment in time has blossomed into what it is today. I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful addition to the Carroll family and am super excited to stand by Sydney’s side as she becomes my sister-in-law. Yay!

I met Sydney at the beginning of our junior year in an absolutely miserable 8am history class, and I’m pretty sure that bonding experience changed everything for us! We went from being friendly classmates to real friends when she invited me to play on her intramural volleyball team. From cheering on our Hokies at football games to study dates in Major Williams, Sydney was one of the main reasons my last two years of undergrad were some of my best years ever!!! My favorite memory with Sydney has to be our inaugural Toga Party! Seth came along a little later, and excuse my corniness but the rest is HISTORY! I’m so excited to be part of the celebration of Sydney and Seth to officially join their lives together! Love you!

For me, meeting Sydney during my junior year in History Club qualified as one of those rare and beautiful moments in life when a lifelong friend falls right into your lap. Friendship with Sydney was instantaneous. She was (and is) smart yet humble, sophisticated yet deeply, deeply nerdy, sweet and kind yet fiery and passionate about the things she cares about. Being around her is easy and natural, and not just because she's free and generous with compliments. She was always telling me how "cool" I was when, I promise you, I am not. Wearing combat boots and being able to draw winged eyeliner does not make you cool. Sydney is a sunflower of a human being, and I am so honored to be included in her special day. I love her dearly and know that she and Seth are meant for a lifetime together!

Sydney and I wouldn’t have made it through grad school without one another. We became fast friends when seemingly sweet, innocent Sydney shocked me with a poop joke! I knew then that she was my kind of person. We helped each other through two years of work and classes with pizza and movie dates on the weekends. My favorite memories with Sydney include bringing her home with me for Mardi Gras, going on day trips, and learning to make the best gingerbread houses. Being friends with such a bright, loving person has polished my rough edges. We make each other laugh and balance each other out. She’s always the person I turn to for advice and share my secrets with. Sydney deserves all the happiness in the world, and I am lucky to count her amongst my best friends. I know I am better for it.
