Could a Tennessee Vol & a South Carolina Gamecock ever become one? Well, that's exactly what happened here. What was supposed to be a casual date at a cozy Thai restaurant turned into a lifelong journey that we could not be more thankful to be on.
About three and a half years after our first date, Vaidehi was all set to have a girls' weekend in Washington DC with her sister-in-law Raveena, and Mihir's cousin Shefali. Since all three girls rarely got to hang out together, this was extremely exciting for all of them. Of course, the boys, Mihir & Monil were both strictly banned from crashing. Little did Vaidehi know though, that from her outfit to the dinner reservation on Saturday night was a carefully thought-out plan leading to one of the most special moments in her life. On Saturday, the girls got ready to go to visit the monuments and before leaving were Facetiming with Mihir. Now, the funny thing is Mihir accidentally revealed that he and Monil were together. When Vaidehi pressed them as to why they were together, they responded by saying, "To watch the Vols game and build a fire pit". Vaidehi thought this was strange but not out of character as the boys often came up with silly plans. What she didn't know is that Raveena was glaring at the boys the entire time. So the girls got ready, and headed to the monuments taking photos as they went. At one point, they arrived in front of the Washington Monument where Raveena told Vaidehi and Shefali to stand and pose so that she could get a shot of them right in front of the Monument. Shefali then stepped away from Vaidehi, and they asked her to turn around so they could get a solo shot of her looking at the Monument. ANDDDD...there was Mihir on one knee with a ring in his hand. After Vaidehi processed the shock, the rest is history! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Columbia!
