How we met
Spring of 2020 wasn't what most of us had in mind, but it is when both of us made one of the best decisions of our lives: remain on the online dating apps. A simple "like" led to phone calls, phone calls to FaceTime sessions, and then, eventually to our first date, a walk where we looked at turtles in the Chicago River and sat and talked in a park. From there, we bonded over a love of trying restaurants--whether through outdoor dining or ordering in, watching sports, visiting breweries, binging shows, and playing Mario Kart. We knew we had something special.
Later that fall, we took our first trip together to Michigan. A GPS mishap could've led to disaster, but Emily put her trust in Matt and a memorable weekend ended with "love in the air." Since then, life has featured lots of travel, trying different restaurants, a burgeoning mini-golf rivalry, sports, and of course, friends and family. Five years have flown by and we are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together!
