We are so excited to share our special day with you!

In March 2016, Agnes and Uzo found themselves at the same table in the lobby of the Carolina Inn. They started chatting, bonded over their common love of Samsung phones, and exchanged numbers. That marked the beginning of three-and-half years of friendship. In September 2019, after serving together as student leaders in their campus ministry, spending several finals seasons hunkered down in the basement of “Parker Palace,” and growing closer as friends, Uzo finally plucked up the courage to ask Agnes if she would like to start dating him, and the rest was history. Or so they thought. In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic pulled Agnes and Uzo apart, sending Uzo back home to London for a year and Agnes to Philadelphia for medical school. For sixteen long months, the couple had to make do with WhatsApp video calls, Netflix parties, and virtual escape rooms. That was until they were reunited in July 2021 when Uzo came back to the United States for law school. After enduring almost three years of long-distance dating, the couple came to trust that, together, they could endure the storms of life. Armed with that faith, in February 2023, Uzo invited Agnes back to the campus where they first met. There, after Uzo’s incredible friends lead Agnes to believe she was in town for Barrister’s Ball—or law school prom—Uzo met Agnes under UNC’s Davie Poplar tree and asked her if she would do him the honor of spending the rest of her life with him. She said yes! We’re so excited for you to join us to celebrate our wedding, almost exactly eight years to the day we first met. See you in March!
