Khanh swiped right on a dating app while Uyen accidentally swiped left and then she frantically tried to figure out how to contact him. First in-person date was at a diner for breakfast; the first of many forgivable mistakes Khanh made. Early on dating, Khanh figured out that even though Uyen was quiet, deep down, she’s very competitive and bested him in activities such as bowling and ax throwing. We got to know each other real well by discussing the books Eight Dates and 5 Love languages. Through various adventures together, we fell in love. Uyen doesn’t like the cold, however she showed her love and commitment by going on ski trips. She was a willing learner and put up with the tough-love teaching from Khanh. He was impressed that Uyen went from never skiing at all to expert level black diamonds in one ski season. Other great memories include the road trip to Oregon, the Alaska trip, hiking Half-Dome, Big Island Hawaii trip, exploring the Bay Area hiking and feasting on tasty treats. All it took for him was to meet Uyen to change his mindset. The Proposal: Khanh bought a silicone ring ahead of time in case she says no so he wouldn’t waste the money. In actuality, he was confident she would say yes and wanted her to pick out a ring she likes. She was caught off guard and speechless with the proposal at Heavenly Tahoe ski resort where they first skied together. And now, we hope you can join us in the celebration of our bond.
