High school sweethearts. It all started in 10th grade, when Will, who attended a different high school than Kaitlyn, came across her Instagram and thought she was absolutely beautiful. With a few friends in common, he decided to send her a message. They "clicked" right away, and before long, they were talking every single day. They were both nervous on their first date — the good kind of nervous! Will invited Kaitlyn over to his house, grilled for her (duck, of course), and they watched the sunset together on the hay bales. Over the next couple of years, they spent time hunting, fishing, jamming out on drives, hanging out with friends, and taking summer trips to Mille Lacs, MN, their favorite getaway. After both graduating from high school in 2023, Will moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where he started his electrician apprenticeship. Kaitlyn moved into the dorms at South Dakota State University to study Respiratory Therapy. They focused, worked hard, and chased after their dream careers. Once Kaitlyn graduated, they celebrated by visiting Will's family at their campground in Mille Lacs. After brunch with Will’s family, they took Bo for a walk to the river. Bo happily chased sticks along the shoreline, while Kaitlyn and Will enjoyed the outdoors. As they began heading back down the path, Kaitlyn realized Will was no longer walking beside her. She turned around, and there he was on one knee. She cried instantly, overwhelmed with happy tears, and quickly said yes!
