We will be organizing complimentary bus transportation to and from the venue from a pickup spot in Málaga downtown. Please check back here for details closer to the date! For those who do not plan to use the buses, we suggest using Uber or booking ahead with a taxi. Note the venue is appx. 40 min from downtown Málaga. Please account for traffic or delays.
Please RSVP no later than September 20th, 2024. Thank you!
We encourage guests to arrive anytime after 4:30pm for our ceremony at 5:00pm. Those traveling on the bus can plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early.
We hope that everyone can be fully present during our ceremony to share this special moment with us. We kindly request that guests refrain from using their cell phones or cameras during the ceremony.
We're encouraging guests to wear formal attire. For men, we suggest a suit and tie. For women, a floor-length dress, fancy cocktail dress, or elegant jumpsuit is perfect!
Though weather these days is hard to predict, we are praying for a warm and sunny day! Typical October daily temperatures may reach the mid to high 70's, with evening temperatures in the mid 60's.
The ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner will be held outside. There will be an indoor space and lounge areas in the shade open throughout the evening. The dance and party will be held indoors.
There will be signage in English and staff that speak English at the AGP airport. Once you get to baggage claim, please note your luggage will arrive on a different luggage belt from the flight you were assigned. All luggage coming from an international destination (aka, U.S.) arrives on belts 31-34. These belts are located in a glass enclosed area past the other luggage belts. Enter the area to pick up your bags. On your way out, someone from Customs may check your bags, depending on the day. When exiting the airport, there will be taxis available towards the right in the taxi lanes. Taxis in Spain are white with green lettering, and are very reliable and affordable. Uber's are also available, but taking a taxi is easier. Most taxis should take credit card payment, but you can verify with the driver before you take off. Please call Brad or Jessica if you're having any trouble upon arrival!
Spain uses the Euro (€) as its currency. The exchange rate fluctuates daily, however the average rate this year has been roughly 1 USD = 0.93 EUR. Cash is still the most common form of payment in Spain, though nearly all stores and restaurants accept credit cards. Visa and Mastercard are most commonly accepted, while American Express varies by business. If you would like to get cash (Euros) in America before leaving to Spain, the best options are typically your local bank or AAA. Please note that you will pay more in exchange rates going this route. Cash will be easy to withdraw (at a lower exchange rate) from various bank ATM's all around Málaga, just remember your debit card + PIN!
Yes! In Spain, the outlets are type C and type F (two round prongs). Google search "Spain power adapter" and the correct results should pop up for you to order. Phone chargers, laptop chargers, and camera batteries are almost always dual-voltage nowadays (110v-240v) and work fine with just an adapter. However, if you're planning to use the outlet for something else with only low voltage (i.e., hair tools at 110v), you will also need to bring a converter to convert the voltage. Note that it's not uncommon for hair tools, even with the correct converter, to burn out while using them in Spain if they're not dual voltage. There should be hair dryers supplied in most hotel rooms or AirBnb's.
The easiest way to use your phone in Spain is to add an international data plan to your current mobile service. Reach out to your cell phone company and upgrade your account to work with European carriers they have service agreements with. In many cases, your phone will automatically connect without you needing to do anything. Depending on the carrier, you can add a day pass plan ($5-$15/day), or just add a one month international plan for the month you'll be traveling. Otherwise, plan to keep your phone on airplane mode for the whole trip and use WiFi networks to connect to internet as you're able.
