Ursula was new to San Francisco and Tyler wasn't new to online dating; both joined the Bumble dating ap. Ursula's father had just passed and she was looking to finally settle in her new city. Tyler was across the Bay in Danville hopeful that the internet would help him meet someone outside of his normal routine. Both, not wanting to meet anyone outside of their respective zip codes, set the ap to only show profiles of people within 10miles. Then... one day...Memorial Day to be exact... Ursula ventured out of the city fog to Walnut Creek in search of some sun. While laying by the pool with her mom she opened the Bumble ap to see if any cute guys had liked her profile, not realizing the dating ap now registered her location in the East Bay. Tyler, who only wanted to date in the East Bay, could now see Ursula's profile. Understandably, he couldn't resist her cute photos, so he liked her geographically undesirable profile. That evening, frustrated that the ap lead her astray to the men of the East Bay, she saw Tyler's profile and thought.. "huh?.. he's cute, seems normal, loves his family, there might be potential"... but she did nothing. A day later back in the city she opened the ap and there he was again... she thought about it for a bit... then realized, what do I have to lose... he might not live in SF, but ya never know... so she liked his profile and messaged him. He immediately messaged her back. The next day they spoke on the phone and that Saturday, June 2nd, they had their first date. Tyler said, "imagine, this could be your last first date." Ursula uncomfortably laughed and under her jaded breath said, "that's not likely". The next day Tyler called his father to confidently say he met the woman he's going to marry... four weeks later Ursula had the same realization Tyler had on their first date. Three months later they started ring shopping. Six months later they were engaged. So, you really can find anything on the internet!
