We met how most people over the age of 30 meet these days - online. Ursula was ready to start dating again after Sevara turned one and was sleeping through the night, and Arash was trying to find a partner in crime when he spied Ursula’s profile. We met for a drink at a place close to Ursula’s and hit it off immediately. It wasn’t long before we introduced each other to our respective daughters and started weaving them into different outings, while still making time to have romantic dates together. After about 10 months of long distance dating - Oakland to Mill Valley - we decided that it was time to take the next step and move our families under the same roof. Having Sevara sleep in the makeshift room that we made in Arash’s breakfast nook just wasn’t going to cut it anymore, so we went on the hunt for a bigger place in Mill Valley. India and Ellia spotted a perfect place for rent down the street from their mom’s house and close to their school, so we worked our magic with the property manager and got in. We moved into the house and settled into living life as a family of 5. After 2 years of living together, Arash decided to make it official. He conspired with India and Ellia to pop the question on Christmas morning. All of the presents had been opened, except one little box behind the tree. Ursula opened it to find a ring and a note. She looked around in shock and asked “Is this a joke?”. For once, it wasn’t. Now we’re getting ready for the wedding, celebrating with all of our friends and family, and spending the rest of our lives together.
