Easily one of the best things to do in Houston is to enjoy the Museum of Natural Science. Purchase tickets to a traveling exhibit, walk through the hall of jewels, wander through the incredible paleontology exhibit, and wear bright colors for some great close-ups with butterflies.
See where it all began at the original ship channel of Historic Houston. Sign up for a historical pontoon boat tour to get the best view (and breeze) of our hometown.
Keep the historic and surprising sightseeing going with a quick tour of the longtime hidden gem, Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern. This underground former water reservoir boasts the longest reverb tail I've ever heard.
Ride the Hermann Park Railroad, paddleboat through McGovern Lake, and take in the beauty of the Centennial Garden.
Take a stroll through Houston's Historic Market Square Park and grab a bite or drink from one of the many establishments near the park.
Get to know Discovery Green Park from its beautiful gardens, kayaks in the lake, rotating art installations, and food options at the Lake House and (our venue!) The Grove.
Support Houston's small businesses on 19th Street in Houston Heights. Vinyl Edge and Casa Ramirez are a couple of our favorite and most frequented stops.
Long before they met, Caroline and Chris both grew up on the same Texas BBQ. Caroline goes for the lean sliced brisket sandwich with pickles, onions, and extra BBQ sauce. Chris' favorite go-to always has been and always will be the ribs.
The non-contested best street tacos in the city of Houston can be found at this taco truck. The local move is to grab a bag of tacos and walk across the street to West Alabama Ice House to pair them with your favorite beer.
Located in the oldest building in Houston is the famed La Carafe wine bar. Cash only and the ATM works when it feels like it. Enjoy a glass of vino by candlelight. Tip your bartender extra and maybe they'll fill you in on the ghost sightings they've witnessed over the years.
Come for the vibe and the heavy pour, not for the service or fancy cocktails. Warren's Inn is one of the oldest bars in Houston. Bring cash to enjoy the sounds of the best jukebox in the city, possibly the world.
Kokoro has become our FAVORITE sushi spot! Considering the amount of time Chris has spent in Japan, this says a lot. It's important to note that it is mostly counter seating, meaning it's best suited for 2 or 3 people tops. The restaurant is located in Bravery Chef Hall, which does provide tables, however you will be met with a limited menu if you don't sit at the counter. Some of our favorite items include maguro crudo, chutoro and hamachi nigiri, and the wagyu toast. If hand rolls are more your speed, check out their sister restaurant, Handies Douzo, located in The Heights.
