We met, by chance, on a completely random day. After a long week for both of us, we decided to gravitate towards the Castro District in San Francisco. That day, we would be meeting with mutual friends, that eventually led us to meet at a nightclub, of all places. There was electricity in the air as we could not take our eyes off of each other. Later, after a few drinks and an all night talk fest, we decided to go home together. That is where we began to create our home, together.
After a couple of difficult years of working through a pandemic, we decided to take a trip, to not just escape our realities in San Francisco, but to also connect not just as a couple, but as best friends in this life. Little did Shane know, I already had plans, and a ring, to make the most committed decision in my life. Goes to show, that not everything in life goes to plan. I had planned three different scenarios and locations, none of which worked to fruition. Ultimately, it came down to what felt right and what encompassed our relationship: spontaneity and love of life. After a long, rushed hike (because we had reservations), through one of the most beautiful bamboo forests, we were able to reach the Waimoku Falls. The setting for my proposal was unexpected beyond measure. After an unnerving "Are you fucking kidding me?" response, Shane finally shook his head "yes" and accepted my proposal. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in San Francisco!
