We met one night in college at the apartment Alex was living, I was friends with the girls who lived across the hall. My friends and I decided to stop by their apartment and Alex was watching the Brewers and wearing a white t-shirt and khaki shorts (I don't think I have ever seen him wear a plain white t-shirt since!). I remember telling my friends that he looked mad that we were over but there was just something about him that I thought was special and that I liked. I was right about both things... He was annoyed that people were over (since we were interrupting his laundry time), but I must have caught his eye too because later that night he gave my friend his phone number to give to me and I am so glad that he did!
For our anniversary this past year, we decided we would plan a trip to Austin, Texas since we had always wanted to go there. I had my suspicions that this would be a weekend to remember for us, but I had no idea if I was right or not! Alex had told me to dress up because we were going to a fancy dinner but said he had something planned before then. Little did I know that he found a beautiful spot to ask me to marry him overlooking the Colorado river. When he opened the ring box I saw that he reset a diamond from my grandmother's original ring into a new beautiful setting. He also planned a photographer to take pictures of this amazing moment. Both of these were important to me and it was beyond amazing (even though it was 100* outside!) and we immediately called and video chatted our family! We are SO excited to spend our special day with you all in one of our favorite places, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
