We’ll be using GroupMe for all wedding weekend updates and communication moving forward. You can join the group by following this url: https://groupme.com/join_group/108241111/K2tbx5l1 *while you do not need the app. to join the group, I highly recommend downloading the app. (even just temporarily) as it is easy to use and you can adjust your notification settings to your preference. Originally, we considered email, but through trial and error (and a few missteps 😅), we realized we needed a simpler, more reliable way to keep everyone in the loop. GroupMe allows us to share real-time updates quickly and efficiently—especially when plans shift or important info (like weather, timing, or parking) pops up. It’s easy to join, and no app download is required (though the app makes it much easier to use). When you join, your name will be visible so we’re not all getting messages from unknown numbers. You’ll also be able to adjust your notification settings to whatever works best for you. This space will help us stay connected throughout the weekend—without crowding inboxes or missing anyone. And once the celebration is over, we’ll delete the group so it won’t linger in your apps or notifications.
Please visit the “Thursday 8/14–Sunday 8/17 Itinerary” page on our wedding website and scroll down for ceremony and reception addresses and details. There will be signage at the park directing guests to the precise ceremony location. Guests will be shuttled from the Keweenaw Waters resort to cocktail hour (5pm start time)/reception (they are both at Bonfire @ The Continental Fire Co). There will be a bus shuttling guests from the resort to cocktail hour/reception located at Bonfire @ The Continental Fire Co. & back to the resort following the reception *Please note: The shuttle may possibly be able to transport guests from reception back to their hotel(s)/rental houses TBD) Updated information to come-- join the GroupMe for ALL event updates: https://groupme.com/join_group/108241111/K2tbx5l1

We're excited to share that Keweenaw Waters Resort is currently working on a campground, (& convenience store & beach area!) expected to be available for our wedding. Camping is not for everyone, but figured we would mention it as an option for my nature pals. No matter where you choose to stay, we want you to know that you're welcome to join us for allll the things. There are many great lodging options nearby, including hotels, Airbnbs, cottages, and more. Please keep in mind that our wedding weekend coincides with the local university's welcome weekend, so accommodations may fill up quickly. We encourage you to book your stay as soon as possible."
The truth is, we have noticed available flights, airports, and prices of flights vary over the years and even just throughout each year depending on the season and demand. The U.P. is becoming a bit more of a desired tourist location so we wouldn't be surprised if the variables to flying also change for the positive! Marquette, Escanaba, Hancock/Houghton airports paired with a rental car are all decent options. We recommend the drive-- it may be long, but it's not boring!
