Sometimes what you’re looking for is right under your nose. While Libby and Chris unknowingly crossed paths both as students at the University of Denver, it wasn’t until Libby returned to Colorado chasing the mountains and better weather 3 1/2 years later that all the pieces fell into place. Libby didn’t end up having to travel too far to find Chris once she was back out West. Chris turned up in Libby’s own backyard as a guest at a housewarming that she and her roommates were hosting. And while he didn’t realize it at the time, he wooed her with his skills in both barbecue and conversation. From there, the group transitioned to a nearby brewery where Chris and Libby were more focused on each other than the local beer offerings. They spent the remainder of the night sitting close around the radiator, catching up on everything they had missed since their college days. Two weeks later, the pair unknowingly celebrated the last first date either would go on with street tacos at Uno Mas in Denver. Since then, Libby and Chris haven’t stayed put for long. As a couple, they’ve lived in Denver (Go Pios!), Austin, Texas (Hook ‘Em!) and Tulsa, Oklahoma (Reign Cane!), together embarking dauntlessly into each new adventure. Both Libby and Chris’s families were elated to be a part of their engagement in Tulsa during their shared Thanksgiving in 2018. Libby is an adored future daughter-in-law and Chris is forging the path previously-not-traveled as the first future brother-in-law in a family of six daughters. The couple is excited to return to the city where it all started for their wedding in May, surrounded by beloved family and friends.
