How we found each other. How we found each other.

"Kismet"

We believe that there is a time for everything, and it was time! While both of us had been through some ups and downs in our lives, to say the least, we were fortunate to have a mutual friend who insisted we get to know each other. After my friend insisted I should give her good friend a chance to meet me, I finally asked, "What is his name?" "Scott Feder", my friend replied. "Oh, wow", I said. "I know of Scott. He was my neighbor’s law partner for years, and I also know his kids from Temple Judea. Yes, I said. Give him my number". And so a beautiful story started. There was a simple message on Facebook from Scott, who introduced himself, and I responded. Scott, being in Vail at the time, and I in Miami, continued this initial chat for three days straight. What was covered and discovered in these messages made it clear that we had to meet in person. It was intense! Scott took the initiative and planned a trip to Miami to meet. I was a bit nervous heading to the restaurant in an Uber, as I wanted our first meeting to go smoothly. Scott was waiting by the restaurant door, seated between many people. I saw him instantly, as I stepped out of the car. As we locked eyes for the first time, across the parking lot, it was clear: immediate connection, immediate knowing this was right. During dinner we continued talking and discovered all the other things we had not yet realized we had in common. There was SO much. We had basically lived parallel lives in Miami for the past several decades, even attending the same events and functions, but until that wonderful night, we had never actually met in person. The evening was magical and we continued seeing each other for the next couple of days, before Scott took a trip out of the country. While Scott was traveling, we continued our messages, and to say we couldn't wait to see each other again may be an understatement. Well, Scott returned from his trip, and we got to celebrate one of his birthdays together. It is actually fair to say that we have been inseparable ever since. To find love at any age is a wonderful thing, but to find it after so many ups and downs and at this age, is truly a gift. There is no doubt that our love will continue to grow and expand and that our friend was so right when she insisted "the two of you were made for each other". It was “kismet”. kis·met /ˈkizmət,ˈkizˌmet/ noun destiny; fate. "what chance did I stand against kismet?"
