November of 2022 Caleb and I both felt called to a short term mission trip to the Dominican Republic through our church. Caleb and I had recently started serving in Kids Ministry together, and I remember my first thought when I saw him being that he looked really kind. Though we served together, we did not interact until our first meeting for our mission trip. From the first meeting listening to him speak, it was obvious to me that we would be great friends on the trip. As we left bright and early the morning of the trip, Caleb and I had seats next to each other and talked the whole plane ride, and every plane ride after that. Despite how well we got along, we both brushed that to the side and focused on the reason why we were there, which was to share the gospel and love on Dominicans and Haitians. It wasn't long into our ministry there watching Caleb share the gospel that I knew how I was starting to feel about him. He is wise, kind, joyful, a great friend, and so fun to be around! As the week progressed we continued to develop our friendship, and the more I got to know him the more interested in Caleb I became. As our time was coming to an end, not knowing if Caleb felt the same way, I was grateful for the friend he became and hopeful it wouldn't be goodbye. As we landed back in Dallas, Caleb shared his feelings that were developing for me at the same time mine were developing for him. Each day since then I've seen he's even more wonderful than I thought! The Lord has been so kind to us in bringing us each other and all of you. We hope you are able to see a very present and loving God at work in our lives and yours as well! We can't wait to become husband and wife!
