It’s happening!

A romance started unexpectedly in a high school Sociology class. Headstrong Raquelita meeting a ‘pretty boy’, and maybe a bit too confident, Chris. Who could have guessed that a kindred friendship and romance would develop between these two spirits--whom were polar opposites. Raquelita was enamored by his powerful--but humbled--presence and Colgate smile. Chris was captured by her compassionate personality and fierce independence. A secret love transitioning from passing crumpled and wrinkle notes to flirtatious phone calls to discreetly grasping hands in the hallways from wandering eyes to, eventually, graduating hand-in-hand into the next stage of their future.

Their worlds intertwined as they blossomed into young adults. An unconventional love became one of adventure and insatiable laughter. From cruising through Florida, watching late night movies to waterfall seeking, skydiving, traveling together and chasing sunsets. Metamorphosing into a temperate love; cherishing patient and intimate moments such as cooking, dancing to Anthony Santos and exploring coffee shops. Chris’s expression of true love came in the form of patience and quality time--never extinguishing the ambitions that Raquelita held so dearly and encouraging her during times of self doubt. Raquelita’s love came in the form of support and guidance by seeking to understand Chris, encourage his passions, and remind him of compassion. Their love for each other has not only grown exponentially but has withstood the test of time and controversy.

There’s so many ways to propose to the love of your life. Once you have it all planned in your head all you have to do is go for it. Unfortunately, COVID made Chris pivot his plans. Instead of taking a Graduation trip to California, Chris and Raquel decided to do a staycation in Miami Florida. Little did Raquel know Chris was carrying the ring he would propose to her and throughout the trip, he did a great job of snapping photos of Raquel with the ring and without her knowing!
