We met in the early morning hours after a long night of being out with friends - She was out with the girls and I was out with the boys. Out of all the places we met at an Arco Gas Station in Santa Fe Springs because our mutual friends were dating and they both wanted to meet up with each other. Since we were destined for each other our friends introduced us to one another. We both didn't think much of it. We talked for about 20-25 minutes and both Nicole and Jackie had to go because it was near their curfew time. Then, a few months later we crossed paths again, this time at a wedding in Uptown Whittier and Again with our friends, but this time I was able to talk to Nicole a little more and asked her out to dance and 'she said, "I don't know how to dance Spanish music" ' I replied, "Don't worry just follow me" and we danced the night away. At the end of the night, I decided to ask Nicole for her number and she said, "Give me yours since my phone is broken". I think she saved my cell number on her dad's flip-phone. About a week or so later she called me and we went out on our first date to catch a movie at AMC 20 in Norwalk and a late dinner at IHOP across the street where she ordered Chicken Strips with Fries and in my mind I was like "Ding Ding Ding, Winner." A few months later on August 26th, 2006, I asked her to be my girlfriend - "she said, "Really" with her high-pitched voice and "I said, "Yes" "she said, "YES" and kissed me. Christmas Day 2016 started like any other Christmas Day at the Villa Home. Morning Mass, Family Time, Eat, Drink, Open Gifts and Play Board Games. David had secretly managed to talk to all my siblings, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law and sister's boyfriend to let them know that he was finally Popping the Question. Around 9:45 PM, David actually decided to take his turn and play Pictionary he started drawing these funny looking characters after he drew 4 or 5 stick figures he turned his attention to family and friends in the living room and dining room got down on his knee and asked Nicole, "Will you Marry Me?" Nicole stunned all she could do is hug David and both started crying when you hear Draya yell out "Well say something" and Nicole shouted "YES," and after 10 ½ years of dating, we were finally engaged.
