Burlington, VT

If you fly into Burlington, it is just over an hour drive to Plattsburgh, and the route will include a 15 minute ferry ride across Lake Champlain by the Grand Isle Ferry (You do not want the Port Kent ferry that leaves out of Burlington… you will drive north from Burlington, and then take the Grand Isle Ferry, which is what GPS should direct you to do). It is a beautiful ride across the lake, and is open 24 hrs with no reservations needed. Cost: Driver and vehicle – $10.75 Additional passengers - $4.50 per person Senior passengers (65+) - $4.00 per person Children (6-12) $2.25 per person Child (under 6) – free They now accept credit cards (used to be cash only!)

If you fly into Albany, it is a 2.5 hour drive to Plattsburgh. It is a straight shot up I-87 through the Adirondacks. It is a beautiful drive!

Yes, you can fly directly into Plattsburgh. It may cost more, and the last leg is probably a small regional plane, but it is a possibility if you want to go straight to Plattsburgh.
