Hi All, We want to thank everyone for their patience through this trying time. As you all know, Dwight and I tied the knot on 7.19.2020. We wanted to host a big reception celebration on 9.4.2020 but being that Governor Roy Cooper has extended the stay at home order, we will not be able to have that reception. We hope to be able to celebrate with every one whether in a big group or small settings one day. Either way, we love you all and thank you for believing in our love. Love, The Joyner's

They met in 2010 at Winston Salem State University. Dwight mentioned to LaToya Kilcrease (Tyrah's childhood friend) that he wanted to meet Tyrah. Toya mentioned it to Tyrah and showed her Dwight on the yard one day in between classes. Tyrah immediately said "NO, I am not looking for anyone right now!" A few weeks went by and Tyrah and a group of her friends had lunch with Dwight and a group of his friends. That is when Tyrah finally got an up close first impression with Dwight and told Toya to give him, her number. Dwight sent the first text and the sparks flew from there. They dated on and off through college. God said it was not time for them to be together and eventually went their seperate ways after graduating. Tyrah moved to NYC to start her career in fashion and Dwight started his career in North Carolina. Through the years, they stayed in contact and saw each other yearly through hangouts with mutual friends. The two admitted that years and distance never changed their love for each other, they had faith in God's timing. After 5 years of Tyrah being away from North Carolina, she moves back in 2018 and it was like they were never apart. Dwight had already been blessed with a new job in Charlotte and months later Tyrah did too. The relationship took off and it was certain that this was finally on God's timing. The two call each other Soul Twins because although their bodies had been apart for so long, their souls never left each other. "The connection is natural, easy, and just makes sense. It is a blessing to connect with someone spiritually, intellectually, and physically", said the couple.

On the summer evening of July 20, 2019 at Lake Norman, friends and family gathered for what Tyrah thought was only for her event. After the event ended, Dwight was waiting in the middle of the room as Tyrah walked out to his proposal. It was the most perfect day and done in a perfect way. Dwight made it a point to make this day about Tyrah while she was doing something she loved surrounded by most of the people who have seen them through the last 10 years.
