T.J. and Tyra’s love story began back in high school through the Great Lakes Bay Early College Program (GLBEC) at Saginaw Valley State University. They started off as friends, not realizing that something so special was already beginning to bloom. Tyra told her friends she had a little crush on T.J. — and before she knew it, they went and told him! T.J. later approached Tyra about it, and the two shared their feelings. Shortly after, Tyra was telling her mom all about this amazing guy that she liked at school, and during a phone conversation with her mom, T.J. confidently told her that they were already boyfriend and girlfriend (a surprise to Tyra at the time!). From that day forward, they’ve been inseparable. Since October 26, 2014, they’ve grown together, laughed together, created countless memories, and loved each other through every season of life. Who would’ve thought two 16-year-olds at GLBEC would find forever in each other? They truly are the definition of high school sweethearts. 💙
