We met in 2014 at a probate for Clark Atlanta TBS. it was my first outing after moving to Atlanta and I was trying to make connections with other ITB in the area. I saw Rodney and he was strolling and immediately he became my chocolate during our very first conversation. I told him he’s my chocolate and jokingly asked him if we could have chocolate babies. From that point on it became a running joke for us every time I see him just to make him blush and smile. As the years went by we began to become very close as friends and even as much as best friends where we talked about any and everything and sometimes for hours. we will hang out with each other and every time we hung out with each other we just smiled and had a good time. Romantic feelings came up but never really seemed to be the right time. After the “years that shall not be named” where we ended up not communicating at all I started doing uber eats and the first order brought me to Rodney’s street where he was sitting on the porch. So I pulled over and we connected but everything still hadn’t worked out. Then one day Rodney text me and we sat down talked we connected and the timing seemed to be right. We started dating December 28,2023 and were engaged on December 28,2024. A year absolutely filled with love and laughter.
It was sometime in 2014 I was invited to one of my sorors spots for a gathering. Next thing you know if I see a young lady come to me and say and I quote, “oooo chocolate.” In her goofy way 😂😂😂 all I can do was be like waaaaaahhhhhhhhhh and just laugh and smile oh so hard. From there we developed a friendship throughout the years went to gatherings, to galas, and other events. Then life came into play and we became distance. Through each other trials and tribulations God somehow reconnected us back together. From 2014 to 2024 has been a journey and now that we are about to embark on our new journey together I pray that God will bless us with more good days then bad. That we are all we got and it’s us against the world!
